Essay

The formation and development of Polish and Ukrainian literary periodicals in 20-30th of the XX-th century in Poland are analyzed in the thesis. Socio-cultural modalities of literary publications as an independent element of media were investigated; the specificity of communicative mechanisms was introduced. Ideological-semantic orientation of literary discourse and possible variants of presentation of collective and individual programs were explained. Structural-functional groups of literary journals were distinguished according to the character of the literary discourse and dominants of communication represented by the groups mentioned above. Social reasons and ideological basis of the unique international journalistic projects were detected; the experience of the Polish weekly "Biuletyn Polsko-Ukrainski" was studied in detail; the role of socio-literary editions in the process of Ukrainian-Polish dialogue was considered. Ideological content and problematic spectrum of Ukraine theme in the Polish periodicals during the interwar period were disclosed. Creativity of Polish publicists and the the role of Ukrainian emigration in the development of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation were regarded. Historical and cultural meaning of media activity was established.
