Shelomentsev-Terskij S. Military Infrastructure of the Volhyn Principality in 11–14th centuries.

Object: a military infrastructure of Volhyn Principality of XI-XIV centuries. Methods: problem chronologic, complex analytical, descriptive, system structural, comparative. Results: the military-political situation in a region is described, attaching of this earth to the Kyiv state is reflected. It is proved that as a result of this attaching the synthesis of local placed and Podniprovian elements in the basic components of defensive infrastructure took placed: fortification, armament and equipment of army, spiritual sphere of army and its social structure. The present of western slov'yans, skandinavian and step borrowings in the military culture of Volhyn is mentioned. Beginnings of a stone defensive building in the cities of Volhyn are studied, the stages of its development are researched. Territorial development of network of strategic ways and strengthening is traced, including annalistic cities. Its defensive structure are studied. It is marked that the military infrastructure of Volhyn Principality was component part of old Ukrainian states. Use: in practice of museum and work on regional ethnography.
