Essay

The objective of the dissertation is to inquire into the Greek-Catholic Church's participation in social-cultural live of the Second Rich Pospolyta between the first and the second world wars. It analyzed its activities during the Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1920; during the struggle for the rights and freedoms of the Ukrainian citizens of Halychyna in the environment of total assimilation; its interrelation with the Ukrainian public and political associations and parties; international contracts with Vatican and the Greek- Catholic communities in the Western European countries and the USA; its educational impact on the Ukrainian youth and citizens of the region through religious societies, parties, pastor's letters of the metropolitan and the church hierarchs; celebration of the red-letter days in the history of the Greek-Catholic church and Ukraine; charitable activities aimed at supporting the Ukrainian schoolchildren and socially unprotected population.
