Essay

Object: socio-political, spiritual and cultural transformation of Ukrainian society Volhynia in the twentieth century. Objective: to investigate the Volyn priesthood as a holistic phenomenon, social groups, to trace trends in strata under the influence of internal and external factors. Methods: historical and chronological, problem-comparative, statistical, biographical. Results: for the first time comprehensively examined the evolution of Volyn Orthodox clergy during the twentieth century, its adaptation to new socio-political conditions, the strength of corporate protective mechanisms, analysis of quality and professional aspects of the collective consciousness of the clergy and their regulation by church rules, social stereotypes, given palette dominant ideological currents among the clergy, outlined the scale of the church and community, cultural and educational activities of the clergy. Scope: to enter into general courses on church history and history of the UPC, homiletics, sektology, church charter, practical guide for pastors, for the improvement of religious policy, legislation on church-state relations, for the preparation of regulations and special courses of History of Ukraine.
