Essay

The thesis deals with the investigation and grounding of theoretical and methodological principles and practice of teaching gifted schoolchildren in the USA in the 20-s of XX - early XXI century. The main features of the formation of education of the gifted schoolchildren in the late XIX - early XX century, development of theory and practice of teaching gifted schoolchildren in the "satellite period" have been found, developments in theory and practice of training gifted schoolchildren in 70-80-s of the XX century have been characterized, the relationship of national priorities in gifted education and the theory and practice of children's instruction at the modern stage of development (90-s of XX - early XXI century) is determined and the efficiency of the innovative technologies use in the organization education of gifted American schoolchildren has been carried out. The concepts of giftedness operated by well-known educators and psychologists in the USA since the 20-s of the last century to the present days have been discovered and the leading role of legal education initiatives of the USA developments in the gifted children education have been scientifically confirmed, effective technologies of schoolchildren identification by American educators and psychologists during the definite period have been proposed and their evolution has been analyzed. Theoretical views and practical experience of teaching gifted schoolchildren in the works of famous scientists, teachers, educators of the USA have been generalized. The impact of scientific results and social democratic movements in the USA, peculiarities of modernization changes in their teaching strategies during this period have been established and the conditions of creative American experience use of teaching gifted individuals in the system of general school education in Ukraine have been determined.
