Fedorova L. Preservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments in Naddnipryanska Ukraine: forms and trends, theoretical and legal principles (1870s – 1910s).

The complex historical analysis for activities of major monuments preservation institutions and civil structures, which had developed theoretical principles, and also created a system for preservation of cultural values in Naddnipryanska Ukraine in the end of 19-th - early 20-th century, is conducted in the thesis work. Complex analysis of large size of archive sources as well as professional publications prove that the mission of monuments preservation had evaluated from centers of local antique connoisseurs to the centralized system of cultural values preservation. For the first time the rise of national and All-Ukrainian forms of monuments preservation activities was retraced; main forms and trends were analyzed; legal and theoretical principles for the development of monuments preservation sphere were specified; major achievements of leading centers for monuments preservation were summarized, and this might be used in the modern sphere of the cultural heritage preservation.
