Zelenska L. Academic Councils in the System of Work of Ukrainian Universities of the XIXth century

Object - activities of Ukrainian universities in the XIXth century; the aim - to peform the integral retrospective analysis of organizational and theoretical principles and to generalize the experience of activity of academic councils of Ukrainian universities in the XIXth century for further applying of its progressive results in modern conditions of reforming of Ukrainian system of higher education; the methods - general scientific, historical; the novelty - activity of academic councils of Ukrainian universities in the XIXth century taking into account social and political, social and economical and political factors is researched for the first time; stages and leading tendencies of activity of academic councils of Ukrainian universities during the investigated period are scientifically substantiated; the views of liberal and conservative scientists, educationalists, public men of the outlined historical period on the role, importance and functions of the academic councils in the system of home universities are systematized; legal basis of activity of academic councils of Ukrainian universities in the outlined historical period are determined; peculiarities of realizing the functions of the academic councils are revealed and characterized (educational, scientifical, public educational, economical, justice and police functions); the results -the researched material and its conclusion as for the activity of academic councils of Ukrainian universities in the XIXth century are outlined in the monograph "Academic council of university: history, theory and experience", the programme and methodical recommendations "Collective self-government in Europian and Ukrainian universities" of the educational course "Higher education pedagogy"; the field - pedagogy
