Morozov O. Activities of customs authorities of the Russian Empire in the Ukrainian provinces (XVIII-early XX century.)

Thesis is the first study in historiography, where the base set of various archival and historiographical sources revealed and summarized the results of the customs system of the Russian Empire XVIII - early XX century in the Ukrainian provinces. Our study identified theoretical and methodological aspects of the historical process of inclusion of the Ukrainian lands in the imperial customs system. Author proposed the concept of the role of customs regulations. Outlined the socio-economic importance of Ukrainian provinces in the process. Particular attention is paid to the genesis of the customs the ideology of the Russian Empire and its impact on social processes in Ukraine. A new concept of historical customs and tariff policy of the empire who performed the leading mechanism of incorporation of the Left-bank Ukraine. The role of international trade agreements in promoting entrepreneurial activity in the Ukrainian provinces.
