Essay

The thesis is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the problems of philosophy of education, accretion of the intellectual potential of the nation, the modernization of the Ukrainian education as an integrated system and its role in the process of Ukrainian state-building, national self-sufficiency, revival and strengthening of Ukrainian culture, the formation of person as a citizen and individuality, education of world-view and values relevant to era of globalization and the information revolution, the tasks of strengthening the state, Ukraine's entry into the European cultural space. Theoretical and methodological aspects of educational research as social and cultural phenomenon are defined. The notion of "national character of education", particularly Ukrainian one (compared with leading education systems of the countries of European space); defining the basic parameters of the Ukrainian national education as a system, the concept of "pedagogical matrix" as a paradigm of development of educationis analyzed. The problem of reaction of Ukrainian education to the challenges of the globalized world, it trasnsformation, unification, modernization in contemporary globalized space and in the context of the objectives of Ukrainian state-building, strengthening national unity, common general human values, creating of culture of national relations is revealed.
