Essay

The concept of late Pleistocene aeolian relief formation as well as theoretical and methodological foundations of the investigation of aeolian paleomorphogenesis have been substantiated, and the main research problems have been highlighted and systematized. The research scheme and algorithms for different stages depending on their goals have been suggested. To identify aeolian paleoforms have been formulated, and the cartographic model of proliferation of these forms on the right-bank side of Ukrainian Polissia has been elaborated. The accumulative aeolian paleoforms were typified with regard for existing international classifications, and a number of morphometric parameters were determined. In the dissertation, spatial and positional location of different types of eolian paleoforms is analyzed, the mechanisms of their formation are described, and zoning of the right-bank territory of Ukrainian Polissia is realized. The methodology of determining the azimuths of winds has been suggested, and their speed has been reconstructed. Based on a series of thermoluminiscent datings of deposits, the main stages of eolian processes development and phases of dune formation are outlined. Also describes the places of local rebuilding of the hydrographic network revealed on the basis of spatial and positional location of paleodunes, which were formed at the end of late Pleistocene - beginning of the Holocene.
