Essay

A conceptualization of contemporary vision of H. Vashchenko's philosoph- ical and pedagogical heritage as one of the methodological guides of an ad- equate knowledge formation about education is carried out in the thesis. A complex analysis of philosophical and worldview bases of H. Vashchenko's pedagogical theory is conducted. A meaningful and well-reasoned distinctness and persuasiveness in the thinker's philosophical and pedagogical conception of Ukrainian national idea as a spiritual substance and state-national factor is justifed. Ukrainian and West European cultural, historical, worldview and theo- retical sources of H. Vashchenko's philosophical and educational views com- bined with the Christian worldview and human understanding are disclosed. A rootedness of H. Vashchenko's philosophical and pedagogical conception in Ukrainian intellectual tradition is proved. Correlation of H. Vashchenko's philosophical and educational conception with sociocultural context of its creation is revealed and a consonance of his creative activities with contemporary educational problems is established.
