Essay

Object of study – game playing competence of the combined subject of educationally oriented playing activity. Objective: to discover the components of the psychological structure of game playing competence of the combined subject of educationally oriented playing activity, develop and test the conceptual model of its development. Methods: theoretically-methodological analysis, systematization, classification and generalization of psychological approaches to the study of problems; psychologically-pedagogical experiment in the form of stating, formative and control research, which was carried out using original techniques; empirical methods of data collection – observation, conversation, questionnaires, psychodiagnostic test; mathematical methods of statistics. Scientific novelty: first the structure of teacher’s game playing competence was detected, it is formed by such factors as «the ability to control the game-playing process and its outcome», «socio-intellectual game-playing qualities», «motivational readiness for educationally oriented playing activity», «cognitive readiness for educationally oriented playing activity», «game-playing orientation»; the conceptual model for the development of game-playing competence of the combined subject of educationally oriented playing activity was suggested in the context of a role-playing approach; teacher’s psychological readiness for educationally oriented playing activity as a basic component of game-playing competence was empirically determined and on this basis the questioning diagnostic method of its operations research was created; the structure of game playing competence of the combined subject of educationally oriented playing activity was improved by clarifying the components and indicators of its development; the structure of pupil’s game playing competence was improved, it is characterized by moderate level of school anxiety, high indicators of educational and game-playing orientation, subjectness, volitional regulation, predominant kinaesthetic system. Practical value: a complex of diagnostic methods of game playing competence of the combined subject of educationally oriented playing activity; the questioning diagnostic method «Teacher’s psychological readiness for educationally oriented playing activity» was created, it is used during the psychological support for teacher education and training to a successful implementation of didactic games; a play-based developing complex for the application of didactic manipulative games in actual teaching was designed, it is being used in language learning process in primary schools. The effect of implementation is high. The field of application: general educational institutions.
