Essay

Object of study – consciousness of higher school teachers’. The purpose of research consists in theoretical and methodological substantiation and empirical check of the concept of development of categorical structure of higher school teachers’ professional consciousness. Methods: theoretical - system and semantic analysis, abstraction, generalization, comparison, ordering and classification of the received information and its interpretation, structurally-functional modeling; empirical - methods of psychodiagnostic inspection, method of the comparative analysis of the received results, expert estimation. Scientific novelty: on the basis of deep methodological analysis the thesis reveals the problem of consciousness and self-consciousness in modern psychological literature; content, structure and resulted definitions of these concepts have been given; the professiogram analysis of higher school teachers’ activity has been conducted and the model-psychogram has been worked out; the essence and functional role of professional consciousness in teacher’s professional activity has been revealed, the analysis of modern approaches to characteristics of teachers’ professional activity has been carried out; the systemic analysis of categorical structure of higher school teachers’ professional consciousness has been carried out; the innovative aspects of teachers’ professional consciousness have been considered. Practical value: psychosemantic and psychocorrection technique are modified; reflexive practical work, social-psychological training, program of development of professional consciousness of the teachers, special courses " Development of professional consciousness of the teachers of a higher school", laboratory complex "Psucho-test" of cognition processes study of the teachers are developed. The field of application: higher educational institutions.
