Yuriy P. Minorities of The Right-Bank Ukraine in The Context of Ethnic Politics of The Russian Empire (the end of XVIII - beginning of XX century.).

The thesis, taking into account the achievements of Ukrainian and foreign historiography, a broad and representative source basis, reveals the results of research on the socio-economic, educational, and religious aspects of life of the most numerous minorities of the Right-Bank Ukraine (Poles, Jews, Germans and Czechs) and ethnic policy of tsarism impact on them since joining those territories to the Russian Empire and to the beginning of World War I. It is defined the theoretical and methodological bases of the research on minorities in the context of ethnic policy of tsarism. It is processed a large amount of national and foreign historiography which is devoted to various aspects of given research, singled out the main periods of historiographical research, shown achievements and unsolved problems. It is revealed the specifics of the research sources, which are represented by regulatory acts and bills of the central and local authorities, statistical materials, periodicals, memoirs, diaries and correspondence of prominent socio-political, cultural and educational figures and colonists.
