Essay

Object: Volyn province as administrative unit of the Russian Empire, and later the Ukrainian State (1917-1921). Objective: complex historical analysis of events, revealing of military and political features of Volyn province under the influence of nationwide state processes in specified chronological limits. Methods: historical, classification, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-systematic, problem- chronological, historical-personological, actualization. Results: for the first time scientifically conducted research features of military-political development of a particular region – Volyn province (1917-1921), solved the problem of the definition of the role of Volyn and its population in the struggle for Ukrainian statehood and the defeat of the Ukrainian revolution, created a coherent concept of the place and role of Volyn province in the military-political processes of period of Ukrainian revolution 1917-1921, improved approaches to identifying the characteristics of the events of the Ukrainian revolution in Volyn province, evaluation and placed accents in certain place of Volyn territories during the struggle of the Directory of Ukrainian People's Republic for the preservation of Ukrainian statehood. Scope of application: researchers of national and regional history, local historians, educators during retrieval research and teaching and educational work, writing of research papers on relevant topics.
