Essay

The present thesis is the first attempt at establishing theoretic conception of the functioning of the printed media as national social institution, namely, generator of world-view values in society in terms of forming the nation's civic consciousness as an integral part of creating a powerful national state as well as civilized integration into world information space through carrying out systematic research into controversial informational and political, state establishing and democratic processes in Ukraine of today as well as historic ideological experience. The essence of fundamental notion "the national press" in terms of historic context has been established. Both sources and development conditions of the national press in pursuit and consolidation of progressive social ideals as well as in the systemic agitation for political freedom of the nation have been highlighted. Specifics of formation of the press branched system as efficient reflection of original history of the nation's political life as well as the process of establishing its own specifics of national ideology content have been systematically studied.
