Essay

Object: integral nationalism. Objective: tracing the origins and development of the main directions of Ukrainian integral nationalism during the 1920-1930's in the European context. Methods: historical and critical, historical and comparative, ideal types, combination of textual and contextual analysis, elements of political discourse analysis. Results: for the first time a comprehensive study of intellectual history of Ukrainian integral nationalism 1920-1930's in the European context is carried out, to the its study the theories of political religious and symbolic universes is applied, a concept of ustashism – the revolutionary form of integral nationalism of nonstate nations is introduced; theoretical model of integral nationalism, application of the theory of social myths to the study of Ukrainian nationalism, typology and periodization of Ukrainian integral nationalism of the interwar period are improved. Scope of application: for university courses in the modern history of Ukraine, for writing of textbooks on the history of Ukraine, political science, history of Ukrainian political thought, etc., and also in the forming of public particular historical consciousness of the citizens of Ukraine.
