Dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Geographical Sciences, speciality 11.00.02 - Economic and Social Geography. - Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin, Kharkiv, 2013. The dissertation advanced theoretical and methodological approaches to socio-geographical study of global civilizational space, namely: modeling technique of civilizational development of national and regional socioheosystems, methodological approaches to the study of global civilizational space through a combination of sacred and scientific knowledge; application of etymological method for identifying and deepening the concepts of "civilization", "globalization", "mondialization" and "glocalization" has been justified. In the context of the author's interpretation of the term "civilization" the definition of global civilization is justified. The influence of civilization factor in the territorial organization of society has been analyzed. Sacred, geo-economic, cratopolitical, environmental aspects of spatial transformation of socioheosystems has been clarified. Based on partial and integral indicators, the results of cluster analysis and multidimensional classification system indicators a theoretical model of global cultural space with the release of macro and appropriate transition zones has been developed. Based on the analysis of system indicators (economic, financial, demographic, informational, and ecological) the place of Ukraine and vectors of development during 2000-2011 in a global civilization have been defined.
