Essay

The dissertation studies the system of basic speech genres organizing speech communication of institutional (medical) discourse participants - a doctor and a patient. Doctor-patient communication is structured speech interaction at formal and informal level. Each of the communication episodes can be correlated with one of the following speech genres: complaint, imploration, request, refusal, gratitude, instructions at physical examination and determining a diagnosis, consolation, recommendation, persuasion and accusation. Dependence of speech genres on clinical paradigms having logical and notional algorithm has allowed finding connection and interdependence of speech genres.
