In the thesis of historical and pedagogical aspects it was systematicaly and entirely revealed theoretical and methodological development of higher engineering education in Ukraine at the end of XIX - 30 years of the twentieth century. The preconditions of the formation of the system of higher engineering education in Ukraine at the end of XIX - 30 years of the twentieth century were defined. The periodization of the development of higher engineering and technical education in Ukraine of the defined period was worked out. The major tendencies of the development of higher engineering and technical education at the end of XIX - 30 years of the twentieth century were revealed. Comperative historical and pedagogical analysis of content, forms and methods of the development of higher engineering and technical education in Ukraine of the defined period was made. The main trends of the selection and training of the of the teaching staff in higher technical establishments in Ukraine the end of XIX - 30 years of the twentieth century were cleared. The peculiarities of the student's contingent were revealed and theoretical and applied aspects of engineering staff training at higher technical shool of the investigated period were revealed. The scientific imagination about the peculiarities of student's contingent of higher engineering and technical establishments in Ukraine the end of XIX - 30 years of the twentieth century was improved: main trends of the selection and preparing of professor staff of higher technical sсhool in the defined period.
