Essay

Object: Ukrainian national movement in the Sub-Austrian Galicia through the rivalry prism of national and political orientations, Dnieper-Galician communications in the context of forming the modern Ukrainian national consciousness. Objective: reconstruction and understanding of the process of strengthening the idea of Ukrainian national unity in the social life of Galicia in the XIX century. Methods: analytical, logical, systematization (classification), specifically historical: flashbacks, periodization, comparative-historical and problem-chronological. Results: for the first time the evolution of the idea of catholicity in Galicia through the prism of quality (not just quantity) changes and the process of self-awareness of the Ruthenian as part of All-Ukrainian space is revealed, shows the development of ideas of Dnieper regional leaders about Galicia and its population, relations between Galicians and inhabitants of Dnieper region and their role in Ukrainian national identity are found in historical communications, analysis of the views on the contribution of Galicians in the crystallization of the new times Ukrainian national-political consciousness, the general scheme of the Ukrainian movement in the Sub-Austrian Galicia, periodization of Ukrainian national revival are improved. Scope of use: for rethinking the general concept of the Ukrainian movement, as well as in teaching practice, in contemporary political life for public administrators, party leaders, socially active citizens of Ukraine.
