Essay

The thesis focuses on actual realities, trends and ways of forming individual and collective culture of media consumption in Ukraine. We clarified the scope and justified the place of concept "the culture of media consumption" in the terminology of the theory of social communications. Based on the material of statistics, the results of primary and secondary media research, we studied the morphology of media consumption culture: its subjects and objects, basic units, functions, mechanism of consumer choice etc.; the faceted classification was justified. We described the preconditions for the development of national culture of media consumption; we designed an integrated approach to its formation through coordinated actions of concerned agents - media business, government and citizens.
