Muzyka D. Ortomyxoviral and paramyxoviral infection of poultry and wild birds in Ukraine (epizootology, diagnostic and specific prevention).

It was established wide circulation of avian influenza, Newcastle disease viruses and paramyxoviruses among poultry, wild and synanthropic birds of various environmental groups in Ukraine. There were studied biological, molecular-and-genetic properties of pathogens and their phylogenetic relationships with viruses from other geographical regions. It was studied pathogenesis, immune response, and the state of humoral- and cell-mediated immunity at chickens after infection with field isolates influenza viruses and PMV, isolated from different hosts. There were scientifically and experimentally proved methodical approaches to the development of domestic manufacturing technologies and controlling of mono-, bi- and trivalent inactivated vaccines against influenza Н5, Н7 and Newcastle disease. There were developed and tested under laboratory and industrial conditions domestic test systems based on HIT and ELISA for the diagnosis of avian influenza.
