Starchenko N. Conflicts in the Volhynian Gentry Milieu (the Second Half of XVI century to the early XVII Century)

Object: specific of relationships in gentry society of Volyn voivodeship, which constituted a separate administrative unit with a kind of "autonomy" in the Rzecz Pospolita. Objective: comprehensive analysis of conflict communication gentry of Volyn voivodeship from mid XVI to the 30s of XVII century, their conditionality by cultural norms, basic social relations, governance formal and informal mechanisms. Methods: analytical, logical systematization (classification), speciall-historical: retrospection, periods, comparative historical, problem-chronological. Results: for the first time analyzed the conflicting relationship, mechanisms and conventions proceedings and to repair the conflict among the gentry of one of the voivodeships of the Rzecz Pospolita, namely – Volyn voivodeship, studied holistic functioning of the judicial system in the context of culture of noble features, allowing reasonably evaluate its effectiveness and legal culture of the nobility in general, found to repair efficiency extrajudicial conflict, which was friendly court to maintain balance in gentry society, Modified issue of the existence of a specific culture of hostility to the nobility of Volyn environment as part of the Rzecz Pospolita, which was typical for the nobility of Europe as a whole, improved defaults historiography characteristics of the gentry environment, approaches to sources like direct reflection of reality. Scope: in the creation of generalizing works on the history of Ukraine, in the preparation of manuals, the development of teaching methods on the history of Ukraine for higher education.
