Pekarchuk V. The culture of ethnic minorities of Ukraine: revival and development (for the period 1990-2000).

This research focuses on the study of peculiarities and consistent patterns of the revival and development of ethnic minorities’ culture in Ukraine for the period 1990-2000. The role of ethnic minorities’ culture in ethno-national, cultural and artistic policy of the state as well as in the state paradigm of Ukraine is analyzed.Subjective and objective reasons that influenced on the process of culture’s revival and development are widely covered in view of current methodological approaches and principles of knowledge. The factors that determined the rate of changes in cultural area are specified. The main trends in the development of national legislation that were aimed to regulate the cultural rights of ethnic groups and the system of cultural and artistic life are instantiated. In that context, the main activities of the highest and local agencies of State power as well as a number of Non-Governmental Organizations are showed. Much prominence is given to the cultural heritage in the process of ethnic identification. The role of the mass media, cultural heritage welfare, historical and cultural centers, and museums is instantiated to clarify the different forms of the cultural needs and to promote ethnic cultures.
