The dissertation describes the complex analysis of transformation of the educational ideal in pedagogical theory and practice in under-Russian Ukraine in XIX - the beginning of XX century. The research paper has the theoretical and methodological principles of the analysis of the educational ideal as historical and pedagogical phenomenon and investigates its interdisciplinary character, historiography and sources. The evolution of the formation of this phenomenon in the pedagogical theories of XI-XIII centuries is learned. The specific features of its development in spiritual and secure pedagogy and in ego-documents of the intellectual elite in XIX - the beginning of XX century is analyzed in this work. The dissertation deals with the ways to introduce the nationwide educational ideal, the transformation of Christian one and the national ideals revival in the official educational system, the functioning of the religious missions and confessions, different associations and political organization of under-Russian Ukraine in XIX - the beginning of XX century. The analysis of the educational ideal in the native legal framework, pedagogical theory and practice (1991-2015) is done in this research. The perspective of introduction of historical and pedagogical experience of its functioning in the national system of the modern Ukraine on the level of state, ministries, some educational institution and non-governmental organization is introduced in the dissertation.
