Essay

The object of the dissertation is the grammatical variants in the Russian language. The aim of the research is the representation of Russian grammatical variants in a cognitive and evolutionary aspect. The methods applicable in the dissertation are as follows: comparative historical, traditional and integrated, logical and syntactic, formal and syntactic, method of oppositions, method of a semantic field, description of lexical and semantic groups, quantitative analysis, syntagmatic analysis, perceptual and argumentation method of differentiation of grammatical variants. The scientific novelty: for the first time the dependence of the logic of thinking and grammar on the quality of perception has been ascertained; three levels of perception of grammatical variants have been identified: syncretic, superficial and alternate perception in its imperative and dispositive varieties; cognitive and evolutionary functions of grammatical variants have been determined: imperative ordering and discretionary adding, and the condition of the implementation of these functions: communicative needs; evolutionary correlations of grammatical variance and cognition have been documented; a perceptual and argumentation method of differentiation of grammatical variants has been built; semantic and stylistic integration of discretionary and mandatory grammatical variants based on the concepts of synonyms and antonyms has been done. The practical value: the perceptual and argumentation method of differentiation of grammatical variants, which was developed and applied in the dissertation, can be used in orthological practice; semantic and stylistic integration of grammatical variants contributes to more systematic mastering of these variants than in the traditional grammar.
