This thesis for the first time investigated the methodological, theoretical and methodological principles of formation of professional and personal experience of a music teacher in the system of continuous pedagogical education. The categorial and analytic review of research on the issue of individual experience was done, the structure of professional and personal experience of a music teacher (informational and motivational, emotional and evaluative, action and practical as well as professional and reflective components) is substantiated; the functional characteristics of professional and personal experience of the teacher of music art is presented. The content and organization of the process of formation of professional and personal experience of a future music teacher in terms of the teachers college is disclosed; the continuity of the process of formation of the music teacher's in the higher school is substantiated; the peculiarities of professional and personal experience of a music teacher at the postgraduate stage of continuous teacher training is highlighted; the foreign experience of implementing a competence approach in continuous training of a music teacher is analyzed. The competency basis for the formation of professional and personal experience of the future music teacher is substantiated. The state of the professional orientation of teaching the subjects providing for practical training of students, as well as basic theoretical subjects in high schools is analyzed. The significance of innovative approaches to the formation of professional and personal experience of future specialists is disclosed. It is determined that the implementation of competence-based approach in the continuing pedagogical education system allows providing for the educational needs of the individual, including the flexibility of general education, general cultural and scientific training of future music teachers, enhancing their social protection in the labor market and integration into the global educational and artistic musical community. It is proved that the practical activity as a major aspect of professional and personal experience of the future specialist acquires originality in different areas of personal activity, in connection with which there is a problem of discovery of the peculiarities of a particular manifestation of the activity, including the musical and educational, vocational, pedagogical, and artistic creative one. The content of the practical training of students in continuing education is justified. The improvement of quality of the vocational and practical training of the future music teacher is provided by the use of the following principles of training: continuous pedagogical education, democratization, focus on creativity and originality of the individual, and provision of a differentiated and individual creative approach to its development. Election of an ontological paradigm as a methodological guide of our research allowed substantiating the basic scientific approaches (ontological, system, person-oriented, activity-based, competence) and principles (individualization, continuity, integrity, reflectivity, innovation) of formation of the professional and personal experience of the music teacher in a system of continuous pedagogical education. The concept contains a basic idea according to which the building of an organizational and methodical system of formation of the professional and personal experience of a music teacher in the process of continuous teacher training, and determination of theoretical and methodological principles of its functioning, system-functional relationships, mechanisms of influence on the implementation of the above process should be based on competence approach within the ontological paradigm.
