Object: museum institutions, which operated on the territory of the Crimean Autonomous Republic in 1921-1941 years. Objective: the scientific reconstruction of the process of the creation, recovery, formation, reorganization and activities of museum institutions of local history, archaeological, ethnological, military, historical and artistic profiles of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic; identification of the basic principles, forms and methods of implementation of the state policy in the field of museology in the regional aspect. Methods: logic, analysis, synthesis, modeling, textual analysis, historical-genetic, historical and typological, historical and comparative, historical and systemic, prosopographic, descriptive, statistical, problem-chronological, heuristic, hermeneutic, comparative, quantitative. The thesis deals with the sources of creating a number of museums in Crimea after the establishment of Soviet power. The composition and structure of proper institutions and their administration process are defined. The basic branches of state policy for the museum building are determined, and its contents are fully analyzed. The periods of museology development in the region are suggested as well as museum classification according to their activities (archaeological, ethnological, military, historical, artistic). Personal staff of a number of museums is recreated, biographical sketches of some institutions' leaders are presented; these leaders made contributions to the museology development in Crimea. Conclusions related to the place and role of museums in the general process of cultural and social and political development of the Crimean ASSR in 20-30 years of the XXth century are made.
