The conceptual bases and theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of the transnational higher education development within the world educational space have been substantiated. The author has characterized the semantic meaning of the key category of research "the transnational higher education of the developed English-speaking countries" as a complex, multifunctional, multicomponent, socio-cultural and historically conditioned phenomenon, connected with convergent and coherent tendencies in the world educational space and harmonious combination of global and national contexts in the systems of higher education of the developed English-speaking countries.
