Essay

Theoretical-methodical bases summarized in the present work and subsequent practical results have helped solve an important scientific and applied problem of socio-geographic substantiation of sustainable development and geo-spatial organization of farming economies in Ukraine. Approaches to study territorial particularities in the process of establishment of farming mode, as well as to classify farming economies have been developed and tested. Periodization of evolutional development of Ukrainian farmery has been improved. Stages peculiar for essential changes in the number of farming economies; in the total areas of land use by said economies; and in the overall agricultural production by the same (1992-1995; 2001-2005; 2006-present days) have been singled out within the current period. Application of component and correlation-regression analysis was helpful in disclosure of the group of factors and assessment of their role in the development of farming. The analysis of regularities in territorial localization of production of selected types of agricultural products has helped in tracing geo-spatial peculiarities in production of agricultural products by farming economies, and establish their place in commoditization of food market. Methods to define agricultural specialization have been deepened and tested with the use of the coefficients of transition from physical indicators to grain units, and consideration of average European prices for agricultural products.
