Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the epizootic situation on leptospirosis among cattle in Ukraine, creation, development and improvement of diagnostic tools and disease specific prevention. On the basis of the studies the prevalence of leptospirosis infection among cattle was determined and etiological structure of causative agents of disease was established. For the first time epizootic zoning of Ukraine was created and a map tension epizootic situation of leptospirosis in cattle was presented. It was established that the epizootic situation on leptospirosis in cattle in different regions of Ukraine is not monotonous and has the features, both on the number of cases of infection and also the number of pathogens of leptospirosis. As a result of six regions' monitoring of Ukraine, circulation of leptospira serovar hardjo among cattle was established. It were established that the cows with leptospirosis infection as a result of the toxins causative agent acting expressive destructive changes occur in the kidneys, liver, lungs and brain, as well as systematic destruction of endothelial cells of blood vessels. For the first time in Ukraine two PCR test-systems were developed for indicating DNA of pathogenic leptospira. The paper theoretically proved the need to develop domestic vaccine against leptospirosis in cattle considering etiological patterns of disease that has developed in recent years and it was created "The polyvalent vaccine against leptospirosis of animals (variant bovis)".
