Essay

Object: Ukrainian liberation movement of 1940-1950's. Objective: based on the aggregation of archival and published sources describe the structure, personnel, organization of work, forms, methods and main activities of OUN and UPA in the Carpathian region in 1945-1954 biennium as an important component of the Ukrainian liberation movement. Methods: structural and systemic, comparative and historical, problem-chronological, periods, retrospective, statistical. Results: for the first time comprehensively summarizes the activities of the Carpathian region of OUN – component of the Ukrainian liberation movement, holistic studied archival sources that have not yet been the subject of scientific analysis and evidence collected by interviewing participants in the events that complement or refine the data highlands OUN Ukrainian liberation movement, set the number of insurgents in Carpathian region of OUN and Military District UPA "Hoverlya", reveals the organizational structure of the Carpathian region of OUN and MD UPA "Hoverlya", its changes, highlights the functioning of structural units of OUN, headquarters and combats of UPA; various aspects of the underground activities in the Carpathian region of OUN, found value of mentioned methods and forms of propaganda activities of underground, described the moral and psychological climate and characteristics of the material living conditions among the insurgents, show features of opposition between liberation movement and the Soviet regime, improved method of counting the number and losses in the Carpathian region OUN and MD "Hoverlya", characteristic of features of everyday life of Ukrainian insurgents, analysis of the functioning of structural units of underground and insurgent structures in some areas. Scope: for writing generalizing works on the history of Ukraine and the liberation movement, training tutorials, lectures, practical classes on the history of Ukraine, as well as training programs for selective subjects in higher educational institutions, scientific and educational work, shaping of new approaches to the modern history of Ukraine as a whole and objective evaluation of the OUN and UPA particular.
