Liaskovska S. The activity of VUCheKa - GPU UkSSR bodies in the field of economy: political and organizational framework and specific features (1921 - 1928).

The thesis is the first comprehensive study of the economic activity of VCheKa - GPU UkSSR bodiesat the time of the new economic policy. On the basis of multi-level complex of archival and published sources, legal acts and scientific literature, using an interdisciplinary platform, which is based on historical, legal, economic and political science approaches as well as applying knowledge of special subjects, political and organizational principles, legal framework and specifics of VCheKa - GPU UkSSR economic departments functioning (competences, powers, objectives and areas of work by means of which they came into function) were analyzed. Public economic policy factors affecting the establishment of grounds on which the actions of economic entities were considered criminal were examined in the thesis; the approaches and criteria for the qualification of economic crimes which were within the competence of the state security bodies, and the application by the latter the practice of conscious and purposeful re-qualification of economic crimes and malfeasance in office into political crimes were studied.
