Essay

In this work, the nature and importance of social competence as an integrative quality of personality are established, the main components of social competence are identified, and pedagogical bases of formation of social competence in teenagers and seniors at secondary school as a leading social and educational institution are presented.The potential of theatrical art in the aesthetization of a personality's social existence is revealed; aesthetical and pedagogical instruments and mechanisms of theatrical art in the formation of social competence of main, high school pupils are defined; the social and therapeutic capacity of theatrical and artistic means in prevention of pupils' social disadaptation is discovered.Diagnostic tools to specify the formation levels of social competence of main and high school pupils are substantiated; the analysis of theatrical-play means usage at modern school aimed at pupils' social development has been made.A model of formation of social competence in main and high school pupils by means of theatric art is developed; social and pedagogical conditions, content, forms, methods, types of theatric-pedagogical work with pupils are determined. The suggested model's efficiency has been experimentally tested; some proposals to improve theatric-pedagogical culture of social-educational sphere participants with the aim to develop the formation of pupils' social competence are stated.
