Essay

The dissertation for the scientific degree of doctor of pedagogical sciences on a specialty 13.00.07 - Theory and methods of education (011 Educational, pedagogical sciences). GE «Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National Pedagogical University», MOE of Ukraine, the city of Starobilsk, 2021. The dissertation is a theoretical and experimental study of the problem of forming the national self-consciousness of student youth in the process of public activity. Based on the genesis of the idea of forming the national identity of the individual, it was found that this problem has always been in the center of attention of the advanced scientific and pedagogical community, and priority was given to the following aspects: the status of the native language, its place in the educational and cultural space, the role of the national education system for the formation of national identity, development and revival of the Ukrainian national school. In the dissertation, the national self-consciousness of student youth means the process and result of understanding their belonging to a certain nation, awareness of their own national identity in the system of national relations and international relations, a stable and effective position towards their nation, and willingness to make active efforts to its further successful development. This personal phenomenon includes the following components such as: motivational-target, emotional, axiological, intellectual-cognitive, effective-operational and personal. The research presents the author's concept of formation of national self-consciousness of student youth in the process of public activity, which is based on the following ideas: 1) the actual need of today is to ensure purposeful formation of national self-consciousness in student youth; 2) an effective way of its formation in students’ is pedagogically expediently organized social activity. The concept of the study includes three concepts: methodological, theoretical and practical. It was theoretically substantiated and it was developed the author's system of formation of national self-consciousness of student youth in the process of public activity, consisting of target, conceptual-methodological, content-activity and diagnostic-effective blocks. The target block contains the purpose and tasks of realization of process of formation of national self-consciousness of students. The conceptual and methodological block reflects the author's concept of formation of national self-consciousness and, in particular, scientific and methodological approaches of research, and also principles of realization of process of formation of national self-consciousness of high school students. The content-activity block of the developed system contains the structural components of this personal formation and the stages of its formation, the appropriate pedagogical tools, as well as the pedagogical conditions for ensuring the effectiveness of this process. The diagnostic-effective block covers criteria and indicators, levels of formation of national self-consciousness of students, methods of diagnostics and diagnostic techniques, and also the expected result of realization of the developed system. Experimental verification of the developed system proved its effectiveness. It was developed the necessary organizational and methodological support for the implementation of the system of formation of national identity of student youth in the process of public activity, which includes: methodical guidelines for teachers and methodical guidelines for students to carry out various types of work, educational plans, and didactic materials of national-patriotic direction, instructions and other. The study does not cover all aspects of the problem. Further study is needed to prepare teachers for the organization and implementation of the process of forming national identity of student youth, the optimal combination of classroom and extracurricular methods of formation of this personal phenomenon, development and implementation of innovative educational technologies that would ensure effective formation of national identity of higher education.
