Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the study of structures of cerebrospinal fluid system of the brain in human ontogenesis. It was established sex differences of ventricular system of the brain, and analyzed the age characteristics of different structures of cerebrospinal fluid system during the entire ontogeny. In embryotopography of ventricular system was identified three critical periods of development: 4-th week – period of formation of ventricular system in the form of cavities of the brain vesicles; 6-th week – period of formation of vascular plexus of the brain ventricles; 7-th week – when there is laying of the pineal gland and differentiation of the hypothalamus structures. In postnatal period is typical asymmetry of the brain hemispheres in different age periods: in newborns dimensions of the right hemisphere predominate over the left, and then arises a period of relative stability, and from 18 years and older there is a reversion of asymmetry – the left hemisphere in most cases is larger than the right one. Postnatal period is characterized by a certain dynamic of growth, namely periods of intensive growth of ventricular system in male individuals – 5-6 years, 13-17 years, 18-21 years old, and female individuals – 7-8 years, 12-14 years, 18-20 years old. Periods of relatively stable growth occurs in 1-4 years, 7-12 years, 22-35 years (males) and in 1-6 years, 9-11 years, 15-17 years and 21-35 years for females. In the second period of mature age and in elderly individuals was observed a relative enlargement of ventricular system with further decrease of its sizes in the elderly.
