Essay

The object of study is the historical dimension of philosophy of education in Ukraine; the objective is to reveal functional capacity of national meanings in the formation and development of philosophy of education in Ukraine; the methods include cultural, historical, phenomenological, hermeneutic, structural and functional, dialectical and system-theoretical; the results are the concept of structured semantic field of philosophy of education, where the universal guidelines and values through saved national cultural meanings and worldview traditions become constitutive factors of transformation of regional, cultural and educational spaces; it has been proved that the development of philosophy of education as a specific communication in Ukraine is stimulated by saved meanings of national philosophical traditions; it has been grounded that the meanings of national cultural traditions set the direction of educational strategies and practices, confirming the Ukrainian version of Europeanness as the unity of rational and irrational in training and educational practices; the results of the research can be used for making public and institutional training and educational programs; the field – the philosophy of education.
