The thesis describes the results of the development of theoretical and methodical foundations of distance learning in the system of lifelong education of primary school teachers (objective laws, principles, content, forms and methods of this process), justified and clarified the following terms: "distance learning in the system of lifelong education of primary school teachers"; "the structure of primary school teachers' readiness for distance learning". The idea of the subject of the study was based on a projected ideal object: a distance learning model in the system of lifelong education of primary school teachers reflecting a set of interrelated components: target component; methodological component; theoretical component; training and methodical provision; resultative component.
