The dissertation focuses on the nature of Russian military presence as a powerful factor used by the tzarist autocracy to colonize Right-Bank Ukraine from the time it was incorporated into the Russian Empire until the army reform on the basis of compulsory service. The research structure includes Introduction, five Chapters consisting of three subsections each, Conclusions, List or References and Sources, Supplement. The structure meets the doctoral dissertational demands and suggests the integral solution of the scholarly problem; contemporary methodology and objective approach provide the theoretical background and facilitate the realization of the thesis objectives. The military impact on the social life of Right-Bank Ukraine at one of its most complicated periods has got its clearly cut reconstruction.
