The theoretical construction of the legal responsibility of judges is studied in the thesis from different points of view. Based on the research of the legal nature of this construction, the author formulates its essential characteristics, basic principles, functions, objectives and tasks, carries out classification of this construction by external and internal criteria, provides a comprehensive description of the legal responsibility of judges in terms of the fundamental principles of rule of law, justice and judicial independence, points out structural units of this construction and outlines criteria for delimitation of the legal responsibility of judges from adjacent legal constructions.
