Zavalnyuk O. Sport as a cultural phenomenon (the experience of philosophical reflection)

The functional potential of sport as a phenomenon of culture in the experience of philosophical reflection is revealed in this dissertation. For the first time, the socio-philosophical concept of sport as a phenomenon of culture, which represents a system of organization of socio-biological activity of a person on the basis of the historical-genetic experience of compatibility of sports meanings and defines mechanisms of harmonization of individual and collective interaction, is presented. The analysis of both prospects and threats is offered, which bear modern medical technologies of sports not so much from the point of view of violation of the anti-doping legislation, but from the point of view of a possible transformation of the physiological basis of the human body, while in human culture all the processes of self-development are genetically related, in particular, sports and ascetic constraints, purposeful daily work on oneself. The axiological analysis of sociocultural transformations in the sports sector has been carried out. The weighty role of sport in the education of the moral and strong-willed qualities of the individual was noted, which is manifested in the formation of character, courage, sense of responsibility, collectivism, the ideals of the «Fair Play», and overcoming threats of approving anti-humane sports development priorities is possible only if the search for the current strategy is within the framework of the methodological approaches of social philosophy. In addition, there is a danger of substitution of aesthetic component in sports with products of screen culture, glamour, which will deprive sports of deep signs of aesthetic phenomenon, because modern developed means of communication, contribute to the expansion of the audience of sports spectacles to planetary scale, and the influence of sports shows on the emotional world of a person is growing every year.
