Essay

The methodology for a socio-geographical study of the conflict potential of urban development has been developed. The role of conflicts as a prerequisite for the development of socio-territorial systems is traced. The analysis of the contradictions of urban development in Ukraine from the socio-geographical positions is made. The author's method of researching the conflict potential of urban development at the level of Ukrainian large cities has been proposed and tested. The directions of their balanced (sustainable) development have been substantiated taking into account the conflict potential of their development and the implementation of the "Sustainable Development Goals 2030".
