This paper researches, describes and classifies plagiarism manifestations as a controversy phenomenon that has a social and communicative nature, formulates criteria for classification of products of content creation technologies as plagiarism, and proposes own model of fight against plagiarism. There was systematically grounded the thesis that the problem of plagiarism manifests itself at all levels that are significant components of the human living space, and its expansion is caused by the social and communicative nature of the phenomenon; there were proposed the classification of scientific plagiarism and its segmentation: types of plagiarism; texts with signs of deviations – they are “plagiarism of ideas”, “author’s duplication of scientific results” (“selfplagiarism”), overuse of quotes in a text; plagiarism technologies – they are rewrite, copy-and-paste (white, gray, black), paraphrase, compilation and plagiarism using fabrication and falsification of data as technologies of academic dishonesty; there was presented an integral system of causes of relying on plagiarism and of peculiarities of the plagiarism reception.
