Essay

Dissertation for obtaining the scientific degree of the doctor of technical sciences in the specialty 05.13.22 "Project and program management". - Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2019. The dissertation is devoted to solving an important scientific and technical problem of creating theoretical and instrumental foundations of integrated understanding of all project processes by all participants through the creation, development and functioning of a certain mental space, which will increase the effectiveness of project and program management through the organization of efficient and rational communication and interaction between all project or program stakeholders, project manager / project team and the environment. The conceptual model of the general mental space of projects and programs is developed. It is shown that such space includes other mental spaces. The formalized models of mental spaces included in the general mental space are analyzed and developed. The interaction of mental spaces is studied. The research has shown that such spaces interact with each other through another mental space that exists temporarily and only during the implementation of the project and program and disappears after its completion/closure. Such a space was called a Blended Mental Space (hereafter – BMS). The study of the BMS as a space of integrated understanding has been conducted. It is shown that space integrates elements of other mental spaces into oneself and ensures their transformation during the project implementation. The formalization of the space and a methodology of its creation, that is presented as the step-by-step, are created. Nonformalized and formalized approaches for the BMS management are offered. These approaches are based on interaction, competent approach, using application of mental and cognitive models, Analytic Hierarchy Process, structural matrices and Markov chains, the appliance of the Faulks algorithm and cognitive maps. The created methodology and the approaches to the management of the BMS have been introduced in different areas. It is recommended for use in project-oriented companies.
