Essay

The object of research – the technological process of wood-straw boards manufacturing. The aim – the development of scientific and technical bases for the production of wood-straw boards. Research methods: mathematical planning of experiments, sieve analysis, gravitational, dry-weight, laminar flow of fluid, refractometric, potentiometric, flat pressing, direct and equilibrium transformation, optical design, randomization, Newton, uniform search, nonlinear programming, statistical analysis. Scientific novelty: compressive strength and modulus of elasticity, the bulk density, the coefficients of the shape and sphericality, equivalent diameter, specific surface, the porosity of the bulk layer, the beginning of its fluidization and the boiling layer of wheat, rye, barley, oaten straw particles for the wood-straw boards inner layer were defined for the first time. The schemes of technological operations for manufacture and preparation of chips for the production of straw particles in the technology of wood-straw boards were improved. Rational sizes of the screen holes of the toothed-sieve mill for obtaining the maximum amount of straw particles with recommended sizes of wood particles in the particleboards production were determined for the first time. The new mathematical model of energy costs of the particles drying process in pneumatic cyclone-spiral dryers is obtained. On the base of this model the rational parameters of the cyclone-spiral dryer and the drying regime of straw particles are determined. Parameters of thermal conductivity and specific heat of particle packages conductive heating calculation method got further development. Based on this method the model of wood-straw boards pressing time determination was obtained. The differences between the wood and straw packages pressing time are established. The adhesive interaction of urea-formaldehyde adhesives with the straw surface is increased by straw particles and adhesive modification. For the first time it allows to receive wood-straw boards with urea-formaldehyde adhesive usage. Obtained boards mechanical parameters increased in comparison with the requirements of the standard DSTU EN 312-2:2003. The novelty of these methods was protected by 3 Ukrainian patents for the invention and 2 for the utility model. The new technology of wood-straw boards was developed with the justification of ecological and economic benefits, which prove its ecological efficiency and implementation feasibility. Practical value: the proposed organizational recommendations and technical solutions for the primary processing of straw will provide obtaining high-quality straw particles for the wood-straw boards’ production. The developed models of drying processes energy costs application allows us determine the dryer design parameters and the drying regimes of the straw particles. It can be used for the creation of new structures of cyclone-spiral dryers, as described in the relevant act. The efficiency of the wood-straw boards’ production technology increased due to the developed model of the wood-straw boards pressing time. The proposed method of gluing straw particles with urea-formaldehyde adhesive and methods of wood-straw boards manufacturing are protected by security documents and allow expanding the raw material base for the production of particleboards by using agricultural wastes, specifically straw, and save wood raw materials as a result. The developed recommendations, technological regimes and formulations are accepted for introduction into production at the particleboards manufacturing factory, which is specified in the corresponding act.
