In the dissertation the complex analysis of psychological studies of formation of psychological competence was made and the present state of development in psychology of the problem of formation of psychological competence of penitentiary staff is clarified. The theoretical model of psychological competence of the employee of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine is constructed, where the main criteria for the formation of psychological competence are creative potential, value orientations, motivation, orientation, individual-personality features, communication skills, empathy, anxiety, aggressiveness, self-esteem, internality. The actual stages of formation of psychological competence of penitentiary staff are presented. For the organization and implementation of psychological work with employees of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine, the stages of formation of psychological competence are united. The peculiarities of the formation of psychological competence of employees of future employees of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine are empirically studied. The typology of the formation of psychological competence of employees and future employees of the State Criminal Execution Service of Ukraine is proposed. The specifics of the structure of psychological competence of employees and future employees of penitentiary bodies and institutions are revealed. The necessity of supplementing the psychological provision of the penitentiary staff with the psychological accompaniment of the formation of psychological competence is proved. The author developed and tested a program of psychological support for the formation of psychological competence of employees and future employees of the State Criminal-Executive Service. The obtained results make it possible to state the discovery of a causal relationship between corrective work and the formation of the psychological competence of penitentiary employees. Thus, the use of appropriate measures in the specially created conditions makes it possible to purposefully influence the formation of psychological competence.
