Essay

The dissertation work studies international tourist flows of the world by countries of origin and destination in order to establish the patterns of their formation and distribution in geographic space. Its aim is in order to develop a conceptual model of the territorial behavior of people in the tourist mode. The theoretical foundations of human-geographical research of international tourist flows and methodological approaches to their analysis have been substantiated. With the help of the author's indices ZTA and ITA, outbound tourist activity and inbound tourist attractiveness were determined, and taking into account their components, a cluster analysis was carried out by countries of origin and destination of tourists, which made it possible to identify the factors of international tourism. The regularities of the formation and distribution of international tourist flows in the geographical space have been established as a result of the analysis of the influence of these factors on the outbound tourist activity of the population of the countries of origin and inbound tourist attractiveness of the countries of destination. A conceptual model of the formation and distribution of international tourist flows in the geographical space is proposed, built on the basis of established patterns and theoretically grounded basic tourist motives.
