Essay

The dissertation is devoted to determining the features, content, and directions of museums' pedagogical activity in Ukraine in the modern educational space. The interdisciplinary features of pedagogical activity in the museum space, various aspects of its planning and organization, the methodology of conducting training sessions in the museum with children and university students, in extracurricular activities based on personality-oriented and humanistic paradigms of education and upbringing are revealed. There were analyzed various aspects of understanding the modern museum as a center of educational and cultural practices, updating the past's cultural heritage, an important center of the “knowledge society”, and promoting tourism and a center for regional development in Ukraine. The directions of museums' pedagogical activities in Ukraine’s educational space are determined, taking into account interactive excursion activities. A wide range of museum lessons, lecture halls and studios, museum festivals, holidays, and historical reconstructions; organization of research work at the museum exposition. The conceptual foundations of organizing museum communication with schoolchildren and student youth were considered. Various cooperation models between the Higher Education Institutions teacher, the teacher, and the museum educator at the exposition are determined. The author's model of museums' pedagogical activity is substantiated. The role of interactivity as the basis of pedagogical interaction in the museum space is determined. We note the importance of modern information technologies and the importance of designing museum-pedagogical programs and projects to integrate education and culture in the space of the museum. Particular attention is focused on understanding the museum as a center for education and training in the modern educational space, the psychological and pedagogical features of museums' interaction with institutions of academic and non-formal education, the main directions, and prospects of the pedagogical activity of museums in Ukraine.
