Essay

The thesis formulates theoretical and methodological foundations, methodological provisions and practical results, on the basis of which it was possible to reveal an important scientific and applied problem — post-conflict development of tourism. This is a topical area of economic and social geography, aimed at establishing the features of the development of post-conflict systems, which was tested in the dissertation on the example of the eastern territories of Ukraine. Conflict issues are interdisciplinary and cover a wide range of theoretical and applied issues, the study of which is based on such fundamental scientific categories as post-conflict environment, post-conflict reconstruction, post-conflict development, post-conflict territory, which are considered from the standpoint of theoretical concepts, and practical activities to stabilize and consolidate peace. It was formulated that the essence of the scientific categories «post-conflict territory» was the part of the territory of the state that recovered from the effects of conflict in economic, socio-humanitarian, political and environmental aspects and was at the stage of post-conflict development, and «post-conflict tourism development», which was interpreted as a system of organizational and management measures of the state and local communities, introduced in the post-conflict area, aimed at restoring and creating new tourism infrastructure, tourism brand, travel safety, training, protection, preservation and education of respectful attitude to tourist resources, popularization of domestic tourism, etc. The author's vision of the essence of the scientific category «post-conflict development» has been offered.
